Selecting PLC for extended ambient temperature range

SFH_123 Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Dear Experts, I have to select a PLC for a project, i believe S7-300 will suffice my application, the problem i m facing is about ambient temperature, consultant document shows ambient tamperature from -5 to 70 degrees, The PLC will be installed in a panel placed outdoor in nonhazardous environment under sun shed. Kindly guide me should i select S7-300 or if there is any other option then let me know Regards, SFH

Piotr.M Platinum Member Joined: 6/24/2013 Last visit: 11/14/2025 Posts: 1696 Rating: (433)	Hi when You configure Your PLC in HW Config: - use standard order numbers when selecting Your hardware components in HW Config (they have extended environmental ratings but functionally they are identical) - it is a good practice to put the SIPLUS order number in comments to ensure any replacement / expansions are Siplus too (at least draw user attention to use SIPLUS modules not standard ones) - of course when purchasing and on the Bill Of Materials proper SIPLUS order numbers must be used.
