The application that I'm trying to do is to have some open and close (four open at one time, four close at one time). This will happen every few minutes (let's say every minute for now). I was wondering how I can set this up to send a signal from my S7-200 PLC to the relays, and how to program it on the ladder logic in Step 7. Any help would be great.

Based on what I did with the wiring, I have two modes; N and R. I decided I wanted to put the modes into two subroutines, so SUBN and SUBR. Each subroutine would use two outputs (to change four acutators). So from there... I press Start on the HMI, this would go into SUBN and turn on Q0.0 and Q0.1, which would open four acutators (while the other four are closed). After one minute, this would change to SUBR. In SUBR, Q0.2 and Q0.3 would open while Q0.0 and Q0.1 would close. This would continue for a minute and then go back to SUBN. I wanted it to be looped. Once I press Stop on the HMI, I want this loop to break. Would you be able to show me that, and explain how the logic is done? I guess I don't understand the "M" in your example. Edit: I know I'd want to put the digital outputs (Q) within the subroutine of SUBN and SUBR, though would be good to know how to time the subroutines to switch back and forth. I guess that's my problem.

M stands for memory bit or flag. Just a bit to remember a state. It is not good to write to the same outputs in different places and verry bad idea to start and stop subroutines unless you put all ouputs of the subroutines in a known state before stopping them. The bad part is, for the HMI button...before, when I was pressing it, it would be ON and working as needed. I added this logic in, and then when I press ON, it does what I need it to be (the switching) but ONLY when I hold the button down. I didn't add/remove logic for keeping it on, but for some reason, it does it when it's held rather than pressed.

Attach your program and i'm sure it's solved soon. The way i programmed the plc part needs a momentary contact for start and stop So if you must give the button start and stop that function.
