Use a servo drive as brake and enconder only (not torque required)

Victor Martinez Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	I am working in a project which the customer have installed elevators using two servo drives that provides torque to the movement of the load. They servo drives are connected to the same axis. Some times I believed that both servo drives gaves different torque to the axis creating a problem. One solution that maybe can fix the problem is disabled the motor of one servo drive, and olny use it as enconder and brake. The customer said that they installed both servo drive only for emergency, if one brake of one servo fails the second servo drive should maitain the load of the system. I am trying to disable one of the servo drive in order to use it only as a brake and enconder. I don't know if this is possible using the next configuration. Remco NL Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Are the motors operating master/salve normally? Besides the option of checking where the torque deviation comes from, you could perhaps set the slave torque or current limit to zero and keep the rest of the functionality...
