I am new to Siemens software,I am just testing the software at the moment and going to try a small project to check the ease of functions..

I have been programming Rockwell software and various others for the last 15 years so I have a lot of experience in this field.

simatic wincc professional v12

I want to work on a c7 635 Combined HMI/PLC

I want to move a panel with a large amount of internal wiring with a door mounted c7 635 combined PLC/HMI from a production area due to water issues to a control room, I am hoping to buy a small siemens HMI, Locate this in the production area and Connect it to the C7 635 Plc in the control room, so the process can still be controlled from the production area.

I was hoping someone could please help me with the following questions.

1) You can load the c7 635 programme onto a MMC card. Can the Siemens s7 Software Load the project directly from this Backup Or Is there another Software Involved. I require a upload for the HMI Tags.

2) To Connect a PC to a c7 635 is it best to use a MPI Cable. I think from investigation

the null RS232 port does not function on this unit.

3) Is it possible to connect a remote HMI to the c7 635. If so which Hmi would you suggest and which porting would you use. The Hmi and main panel will be located within a max of 2 meters of each other.they will be back to back with a dividing wall between them. the c7 635 will be in a keycoded Control Room.

4) from the above software have I the tools to do this job. As I am hoping to sit down next week to have a go at this and have a deeper look at at the siemens software to see if it will be an alternative to the rockwell
