How many HMI panels can you connect to a S71200 CPU via Ethernet or PROFIBUS

If it is possible to connect them via PROFIBUS which module do I need, the DP master module or the DP slave module? Can anyone give me a helping hand? Thank you very much Regards

Havent tested it though. Hello Prats The Link posted by Pegaiaprovides you the latest information. There is no change in no of HMI connections in new Firmware V 3.0 , however there is a change in Profibus / Profinet connections : S7-1200 CPU with firmware version V2.02 to V2.2 For PROFINET, the S7-1200 CPU supports a maximum of 8 PROFINET IO devices and 128 submodules, whichever of the two is reached first. PROFIBUS supports a maximum of 16 DP slaves on one DP master with a maximum of 256 submodules per DP slave. A maximum of 16 DP slaves and IO devices altogether is supported. S7-1200 CPU with firmware version V3.0 or higher As from firmware version V3.0 the S7-1200 CPU supports 16 PROFINET IO devices with a maximum of 256 submodules. PROFIBUS supports 32 DP slaves with a maximum of 512 submodules per DP slave. Hope this helps Cheers Navnag

The firmware configured in a 1412C is V2.2 as you can see in the picture. That just means you can download 9 different HMI projects. You still have limited number of concurrent connections to manage. I can compile a lot of things that never work in the real world, error free! The error is not in the project. The error is ignoring good advice and the system manual and specifications of the provided PLC. You want that many HMI connections, move up to the S7-1500. Even an entry level S7-1500 could manage your connections and use your S7-1200 as an I-Device for remote I/O.
