Nullspace Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have a working program in the TIA Portal that communicates with a SINAMICS S120 CU (6SL3040-1MA00-0AA0) over PROFIBUS using Siemens telegrams 352 PZD-6/6. Now I need to switch to PROFINET and use the corresponding PN control unit (6SL3040-1MA01-0AA0) to control my servos. Is there a simple way to do this, just by changing the HW config of my existing program? I have added the device to my configuration but it's not possible to add the 352 telegram. Does it matter which number telegram I use as long as it has enough I/O words? Clearly, I don't know that much about setting up drives, so any help will be much appreciated! Thanks

The S120 can only be integrated with GSDML in TIA. So after GSDML install put the device to you HWConfig, open the device view and add a drive object slot with the telegramm to the device. regards Christoph

ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 1/22/2026 Posts: 22807 Rating: (3074)	the DO VECTOR and DO SERVO meaning the type which is configured in STARTER. for Telegram 352 you must have configured your drive in the S120 in starter as VECTOR. you can check this if you open the properties of your Drive in starter or the configuration overwiew of the drive. then there should be a infofield DriveObject Type, in you config it must be VECTOR . Nullspace Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	Hmm, that's strange. Because my colleagues are using the 352 telegram with a SERVO configuration in Starter. I have tried that myself too and it seems to be working.. Why it works, I don't know.

But i think your colleagues dosn't use this telegram in the drive only in HWconfig. To check the used telegram in the drive control the parameters p922 and p2079. It is right that can configure in HWConfig a DO VECTOR with Telegramm 352 and use in the drive in starter another telegram in SERVO. This should be not the problem because the FW check only the length which is defined in HWConfig for the slot , the telegramm name of the slot is only a comment not more. regards christoph

Nullspace Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	Great, thanks! You are right. In the drive they are using a free telegram with BICO of the same size. So for my purposes right now it's easiest to just change the hardware config to PN with a vector drive object, and reuse everything else.
