SIMOTION SCOUT: Setpoint Enable bit

nforbes Posts: 65 Rating: (1)	I am currently using an S7 300 in Step 7 conected tro a 3CU305 PN to drive a single axis. From step 7 I am using telegram 110 and have the control unit switching on and off with no errors. For some reason however, I cannot get the servo motor to turn. Looking at the control panel in SIMOTION SCOUT it shows all neccesary bits are set apart from "Setpoint enable" bit in the control word and am assuming this is the problem. Can this bit be forced in SCOUT or is it set within the telegram?

nforbes Posts: 65 Rating: (1)	Hi Christopher, Thanks for the help, I now have that bit enabled and the drive is ready and powered, yet there is still no motion in the drive when I activate a traverse move. I have set a target position of 36000, set my velocity and acceleration at 100rpm but there is still no movement when I activate the traverse. Do I need to implement MDI_MODE? Apologies as I am very new to SIMOTION with Step 7.

You use a S7 -300 to control a SINAMICS drive, SIMOTION is a own PLC line . nforbes Posts: 65 Rating: (1)	I am using simotion Scout to configure the drive and using the STEP 7 program to send a telegram 110 over profinet to activate motion commands. Would this be simpler using the Siemens Starter software (like they have in these examples) or is Simotion Scout much the same? I ask this as I seem to approach a lot of hurdles using the motion telegram in Step 7.
