How do you program the PROFIBUS DP diagnostics blocks FB125, FC125 for SIMATIC S7? Diagnosis package PNIODiag for diagnostic analysis at PROFIBUS DP and PROFINET IO If you have a new version of STEP 7 you can also use "Report system errors" see for this your STEP7 documentation. When you insert your flowmeter in the Profibus configuration, you select modules for data exchange with the master, and these modules recieve a I/O address in the configurator (generally you can change this to your preference, Say you setup your flowmeter to read 2 values, "actual flow" and "totalized forward flow", module 1 being 2 words IN (consistency per unit).Say the I addresses given for this moduleby the Profibus configurator are 256..259. Then, in your program, you access the first value "actual flow" by reading PIW256, and the second one "totalized forward flow" by reading PIW258. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

Profibus-FMS was used for Master-to-Master acyclic communications, to supplement Profibus-DP Master-to-Slave cyclic communications. "cyclic" means in this case that you do not have to use program blocks in your code to control the exchanges. When you download the configuration to the DP master and it is set to Run mode, it polls all slaves in its own cycle, continuously. Acyclic comms mean you have to program calls to blocks that will control exchanges; you had to do this with FMS. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
