We are having few units of  MP 277 10" Touch (Part number = 6AV6643-0ED01-2AX0). We want to take backup of a running HMI unit in a USB flash drive and Restore to a spare unit.  After inserting the USB flash drive, same was found available in Window Explorer. But while trying to Backup using "Backup / Restore" icon in the Control Panel, upon pressing "Backup" button in the dialog, "No Storage Card available" message appears. Looks like the USB flash is not getting recognized by "Backup/Restore" option. MS windows CE version is 5. We have tried with multiple USB flash drives too and same issue remains.

We used same USB flash drives in  MP 277 10" Touch-6AV6643-0CD01-1AX1. It detected them and we could Backup the whole unit. We have done same in the past and have restored the image too on to a spare 6AV6643-0CD01-1AX1 units.

Any specific reason why USB flash drive is not accepted for taking Backup image in 6AV6643-0ED01-2AX0. Your help will be appreciated.

Extract from the manual SIMATIC HMI HMI device MP 277  chapter "7.6 Backup and restore" :

"Backing up and restoring by means of external storage device

The "Backup / Restore" function is approved for MMC and SD memory cards as well as USB mass storage devices. "
