Hi!

I currently have an SCL source that a colleague of mine has written, it get's the current date and time from the PLC (UTC) and outputs it in INT on pins for year, month, weekday, day of month, hour, minute, this time is then used in another block which uses the time and weekday to select one from 24 values according to the time.

The problem is that the time is currently one hour behind since it's winter and we are in UTC+1, so when the local time is 09:xx the hour on the output is 8 and the value for 8:00-8:59 is selected. I suspect in a couple of weeks when we change to daylight savings time the time difference will be 2 hours!

So I would like to add some code so that I can modify the date/time output of my SCL code to add 1 or 2 hours depending on wether it is currently daylight savings time or not. Can I somehow get the time zone and status of daylight savings time out of the PLC, or do I have to do it manually?

I can of course make a handfull of IF, ELSE IF statements where I'm looking at the current time, date and weekday, but I'm sure there must be a more elegant solution (like reading a bit/byte somewhere)?

I think, that your colleague uses the "READ_CLK"-block.
For getting the local-time, I'd suggest to use FC "LOC_TIME" (FC60) from "Standard Library" -> "Miscoullaneous Blocks"

FC 61 has the problem , as if i select +1 utc then it adds more than required hours when ,does FC61 has any bug..?

The "UTC" has no day light saving in it so that can explain the difference. Please have a look at Why is UTC time used on the AS? 

So when you have an extra hour offset locally because of the day light saving you have an extra hour difference. Very interesting question! I like it!

Thanks, its interesting, i thought FC 61 takes take care of shifting time as in Rule DB it ask for  changeover parameter.

Can you provide me SCL code For FC61 so i can modify this for daylight saving correction.
