Conditions

We are having a Siemens operator panel HMI running WinCC Flexible application

to work with S7-300 PLC.

The unit is programmed with several user accounts, e.g. AAA, BBB, CCC.

It allows the user to log in to change parameters and perform some ON or OFF function.  We never program the user accounts to expire after a period of time. The operation goes well after setup.

Symptoms

The user account AAA cannot perform the normal changing of parameters after a period of time. However, this also happened to user account BBB. Initially, user account BBB can perform changing parameters but it failed as mentioned similar in user account AAA.  Then we switch to user account CCC. We encountered similar problem for this user account after a period of time.

Our workaround solution is to reload the application.

Questions

The only way to loose the right to login with an account is type the wrong password 3 times.

you can perform a password restore function creating a special pushbutton for the password list save/restore
