The turning measurement is a standard commissioning test (actually a SINAMCIS STARTER function, not a SCOUT function) that measures, among other things, the motor+load inertia and sets the speed regulator gains.  I avoid using it since it wants to turn at full speed and my axes have limited range.  I use the optimization in SCOUT for this instead.

I don't know of any separate documentation other than what might be in the S120 Commissioning manual or in a STARTER manual.
