I control Inverter MM430 by Profibus card

but I have problem.

why install PROFIBUS card on the inverter then instantly cooling fan for inverter turn on

although inverter no run (frequency = 0 Hz and Inverter stop)

I want frequency of inverter > 0.0 Hz is cooling fan turn on, frequency = 0.0 Hz is cooling fan turn off.

So what parameters to set for cooling fan?

are you sure that inverter is not running??

Check parameter r002.

With par. r002=1 inverter is not running and fan is off.

With par. r002=4 inverter is running (maybe with frequency=0Hz) and fan is on.

You can only delay the fan shutdown with parameter P295.

 I am not sure for MM430, but for MM440 and 420, I read Siemens manual,  If you install Profibus option module , the cooling fan will be run whenever the power in on. if no profibus module, the fan will be on when "RUN" signal =1, I test on real MM440, it is true.

As I think the fan running just let it run, it is not important --running is better than not running. That will protect your device.

Hi,

I never see this behavior using profibus board.

This is because only some inverter release need cooling for optional board.
