i am using wincc tia portal advanced v13 and want to give a popup window (for example error with a "Ok" button)

why cant i use the msgbox function in the vb script? is there another method?

Yes the Msgbox Function is disabled look at this explanation out of a FAQ (26165877):

Why can the "MsgBox" command not be used in a script by WinCC flexible?
The "MsgBox" command is blocked in WinCC flexible for security reasons.

Its for Flexible but in WinCC Comfort/Advanced the same.

When you have TIA Portal V13 SP1 then you can use "Popup Screens" in your configuration. Here you can use a Systemfunction to call Real Popup Screens that you can configure in the Screen Management.
