If I compile following for cp1214 v13sp1upd:

             SRCBLK:="products".product[1],

             DSTBLK=>#activeproduct);

I get a compile error:

The 'products' operand has the property 'Only store in load memory' and therefore cannot be used at this location.

which is kind of funny. But what do I wrong or what is TIA doing wrong?

"products".product[1] is a 'optimized' (sick) db whith attr. only store in load memory and contains an array of udt's.

The system manual says:

...data that this tag name references. This could be a user-defined type, an array, or a basic
element. You can only use type Struct with these instructions if the DB is standard, not
optimized. You must use a user-defined type (UDT) if it is a structure in optimized memory.
Only a user-defined type ensures that the "data types" are exactly the same for both the
source and destination structures....

Is it really that for a recipe I need an array of udt's And for read_dbl I need an udt? Me Confused.

Probably it will work when not optimized but I'm to booored to try..

Got it. Though one. It works in v12sp18upd33;) And thinking about versions I remembered that TIA is 'innovating' on version numbers per instruction. Solution for:

cp1214 firmware 4.1.3 tia v13sp1upd5:

select  v1.1 for read_dbl instr.

very interesting  but I must ask why you using at REQ:=#xxx<>0 , it is not bool parameter? If yes, it's maybe problem if your TAG getting value>1 isn't it? Pls give info, it will be very helpfull to future. And another question is, if you use

IF (#xxx<>0) THEN

probably then you don't need to use that REQ parameter notation REQ:=#xxx<>0, enough will be REQ:=#xxx

(#readproduct <> 0) is a bool

 I use this construct to spare a bulky if then. Just my taste.
