Modbus TCP Connection Limit

yeux Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello, In my project i have 12 ABB drives can communicate via Modbus RTU. I use a Modbus RTU - Modbus TCP protocol converter (Moxa MB3180) for reading this drives with WinCC. My problem is WinCC can not connect all these drives same time. Every time i start the runtime, WinCC connect to randomly 5 drives and never tries to connect to other 7 drives. What can i do about this issue? Version: WinCC 7.0 SP3 OS: Windows 7 x64 Ultimate Regards,

I had an issue communicating more than 110 registers on another MOXA (MB3170) converter. What I did was split my polling into two. I had a different configuration altogether though. In WinCCyou can try o split your drives under differenct channel driver connection (obviously with same properties) and see if it works. Ensuring that you do not have more than 110 registers under one connection.

yeux Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	@UMENCHO I try with updates, result is same. Thanks. @daga I try to add new channel but it doesn't allow another modbus. Actually i read 10 registers from each connection but the register address are not back to back. So i left one register for each driver connection result is same. I'm suspicious about Windows TCP-IP connection limit but i can't find any information about it.

Then i saw an option on kepware "Share a single socket across all devices on this channel". When i choose it i can connect all my drives. So i have two options to resolve my problem: 1- I need an option on WinCC to use one socket to connect my drives. 2- I need to remove socket limitations on Windows. (I found a few suggestion about this it doesn't work) I don't know how to handle this.

Also If I add 3 connections in modbus TCP does it try connecting same time? I mean 3 different IP address of moxa gateways with defenite amount of slaves. By default Wincc can handle 8 TCP connections so does it work fine?
