WinCC - Excel Communication

amateur Posts: 145 Rating: (3)	Goodmorning, We had a problem with the customer's project, so we used a new reserve computer. We installed the software in the following order: 1. Windows 2000 + SP4 2. SIMATIC NET PC / Software Edition 2005 v6.3 HF1 3. SQL Server 2000 for WinCC V6.0 SP4 4. WinCC V6.0 SP4 5. Web Navigator v6.1 SP1 6. Data Monitor server v6.1 SP1 7. Data Monitor client v6.1 SP1 8. Office 2003 9. Data Workbook Wizard v6.1 SP1 10. Data Workbook v6.1 SP1 The problem is that when we select the dataworkbook option from the excel, and choose "connect", then the connection establishment keeps flashing for ever wihtout ending. We reinstalled all the software relating to Datamonitor and excel, but we had the same behavior. We also tried installing the Microsoft Office 2000 premium, but we had again the same behaviour. The same project, I opened it to my personal pc and the connection from WinCC to Excel established without any problem. Is there any idea what else can we try? Or what might be wrong? Thanks in advance for your time

amateur Posts: 145 Rating: (3)	Hi, We reinstalled Windows 2000 and all the SIMATIC software. Now, when we give username and password we receive the attached message saying that : "Connection could not be estanblished" However, when I ran the same project to my pc, where XP is installed, and give the same username and password I can read the data without any problem. amateur Posts: 145 Rating: (3)	Hi henno2000, What worked for us is the following : Install all the SIMATIC software with administrator rights, especially the Dat@monitor. I think that it is also referred to its manual. Test it and report back if it helped you. With Regards

Bang_Kee Posts: 19 Rating: (1)	Greetingskamerad, I believe the problem is the sequence of your instalation. I have similar problem back then when I use Invensys-Wonderware. Some of the feature regarding Microsoft Office conectivityare failing/reporting error. It seems that the Dat@Monitor which have the connectivity to Microsoft Office is not fully configured during the setup simply because there were no MS Office. So, from then I always- always in any computer I install- put all the MS products, Office, Net, IIS etc, right after OS instalation. Regards, Bang_Kee
