Trying to get there via WORD_TO_INT then INT_TO_REAL.

It works if I build an intermediate DB of type INT and then convert that DB to Real (Int Pass is a DB I build just as INT Pass through)

"IntPass".I32001 := WORD_TO_INT("WordFromWS".M32001 );

and then perform

"WSSCaled".R32001 := (INT_TO_REAL("IntPass".I32001 +0))/1;

So I had hoped I could skip that intermediate DB and stack conversions:

"WSSCaled".R32001 := (INT_TO_REAL(WORD_TO_INT("WordFromWS".M32001 + 0)))/1;   

But that will never compile.  WSSCaled is type REAL, WordFromWS is type Word.

Is it just my syntax is bad or do I need to pass the Words to an INT DB and then Scale and make Real from there?

Use a temporary Int variable. So you don´t waste memory.

Agreed on using temp var to save DB.  I'm slow at this so it takes me a while to flush out the finer points that everyone whos used to using text based scriptings is used to.  My life stays inside the ladder/function block editor for much of my time.
