arashmor Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	hi everyone. i want to make pid loop for control voltage. now ican read the voltage.but i need actuator to change the voltage level like potentiometer. does anyone can help me to find that?

Your usual analog output is 0-10V, so there it is your control. If you want to control some power voltage, I think you need some appropriate device, based on thyristor inverter bridge. Please, explain a little bit deeper what do you need.

What CPU, and what modules will you be using for the control so you can interface the PID loop to the process to be controlled? Basically, you must be able to read the present value of the voltage for the PID loop to determine the error between your setpoint and the actual value, and you must have an output that would change the control element for the voltage. Siemens does not generally propose elements that can read/control an analog over 10 VDC value directly. So, are you looking for some kind of external potentiometer that you would control through an analog output of the PLC? Would not a voltage regulator circuit do the same job? banconi Silver Member Joined: 3/19/2010 Last visit: 6/15/2025 Posts: 439 Rating: (12)	Well, just a basic idea, you can detect your voltage by resistors bridge, I guess you are familiar with fundamentals of electrical circuits? Just take two "big" resistors, like 1Mohm and one 250KOhm for example (or even highier), this way you will divide your input signal 5 times, so your range will be somewhere between 6 and 8 volts. Try to play with resistors to get better match or wider range. But, for actuator part, you have to explain to us what hardware you are trying to use for this function?

arashmor Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	i am looking for to find external potentiometer like this.Analog to Potentiometer v1 ATP168.apcs.com/atp168/atp168.pdf. to prevent voltage exceed 41 v and diminish 32 v. we use 4 lincoln transformator that when voltage is not in range operator manually with potentiometer set the voltage,now,with transducer we can read voltage. but we looking for a actutor to comlete pid control to set voltage automaticaly.input 0f actuator must be 4_20 ma or +-10v and output must be a potentiometer as you said,
