Which PC-Card should I use to connect WinCC and PLCs redundand

ionut.b Posts: 289 Rating: (3)	To use CP1613-A2 on the 2 PC I must install SIMATIC NET (6GK1716-1CB64-3AA0). Do I require to buy two licenses? It goes up to 120 connections, but I only need one. Some Lean versions?

It is hard to recommend a special card, but my best experiences with such NICs I had with 3Com... but this depends on the personal taste. Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, actually the use of a NIC in PC does not affect the PLC at all. The speed of Communication should also be not affected, the only thing I could think of is that the amount of Connections is more limited (a CP 1613 reaches up to 120 S7 Connections each), you can only use one NIC for Communication with SIMATIC NETin each PC and you can not run Redundancy with the PLC because Redconnect is not supported elsewhere than with the CP 1613. These are the only limitations I could see. Best regards J_Bell
