Me and a colegue are programming a ``complicated´´ machiene together his side is the programming part and mine is the hmi, if im doing the hmi and he is doing the s71200 on a different proyect can we combine our projects together at a later stage without having to rewright one persons half on the other proyect?

 Yes sure you can combine your projects together. If both softwares are made with TIA you can open one of them normally and from view tab select ---> Reference projects from which you can browse for the other one and use Copy&Paste to integrate them both.

simply create a global library and drag the parts of one half into it. Which one doesn't matter. The one with fewer parts, I'd suggest.

You have to insert both devices in the parent project. After that you can drag&drop from the library.

You can share a library if you put it in a shared folder, but you can't open it in write-mode simultaneously.

If you agree on the interface beforehand you can insert "Dummy DBs" with the same tag structure and tag names but without any functionality in the "Dummy PLC" in the HMI project, so you can access the PLC tags from the HMI (symbolic). If you do this you don't have to re-connect the tags once you combined the project. Make sure to name the HMI connection the same in both projects. You can correct it later, if you forget, but it's easier to do it in the beginning.

Don't forget to recompile the transferred parts after you combined the projects.
