Wizzard, thanks for the reply.   My fault, Sorry, I should have clarified better...

I have V13, so the module is already in the Hardware catalog.  And I have downloaded the library, and can see ll the DR's in that library. 

The issue is that there is no communication with the module.  When I go online the PLC and all the signal modules can be seen online in TIA, but the Siwarex WP231 has an "!" and says "unreachable".

Similarly, if I start a new project, and let TIA autodetect the hardware, it will find the PLC and all the signal modules, but doesnt 'find' the Siwarex.... 

Thanks Siwarexi.   Yes, I was able to get the module recognized last night.  Quite frankly, Im not exactly sure what the heck I did which changed....

I did download those projects, but I am struggling to understand them.  Im a long time mirco-win S7-200 user, and Im a bit overwhelmed right now with S7 TIA....  Still trying to learn it with help from online sources... 

Now that I have the WP231 at least recognized, for a first step I was just trying to read the record DR30.gross proccess weight in the watch/force table while I push on the load cell.... Nothing yet.. tag is stale.. BUt I think im not executing the whole DB /FB  DR read thing yet... which is all quite confusing to me at this point....

Siwarexi, thank you !  That might be it.  I will try that tonight.

Other thing I dont understand, is that I used a watch table to the different DR's and set them up for my application (for instance, 1change to 1 load cell, not 3,  Use Lb, instaed of Kg etc). I was able to write them over in the watch table, and when I monitor those values they are the way I chnaged them. But when I cycle power on the WP231, all the values are back to factory... Do I have to make all those registers retentive ??  Or similar to what you describe above,  do I have to write a command to actually store permanently all the changes?

What I wasnt doing that was keeping it from retaining the settings, (I think) was that I never "wrote" the settings to the module with the 4000 + X  command.... I was just writing values one time in the watch table.

Now, whenever I made changes in the watch table of, say DR3,   I immediately then execute  4003.  That seems to 'burn' it to the module, and the settings stay during a power on/off...   Am I understanding that right?

The other thing I did when I was all done commissioning, is write 4051.  (51 write restore point).
