How should I handle the parameter "valuetowrite" if the parameter to be written is "P1511 [0]"

Well no, I wouldn't suggest the overloading of the function's parameters.

I think that it is simpler to assign the value you want to write reading from the r71 and use that variable in the writeparameter function instead using directly the r71 value (btw r71 ??).

I have indeed the need to connect the P1511 of axis1 (slave) with the R71 of axis2 (master).

Well, that is an easy way that has no particular performances on communication. Since you posted it in Simotion section I assumed that your request was not time critical...

The timing is a multiple of one scan time since the asynchronous reading and writing of parameters could require more than one scan.

You're right, reading from the beginning may seem like a simple writing of data.

In the reality my question is a bit more complex.

I have the need to use two axes as torque coupling, the second axis (slave) has to receive from the first axis (master) the torque reference.

This exchange of data must be done quickly, for this reason I have to connect the parameters of the two axes in SINAMICS level.

Unfortunately this is not all, during the various step of processing, the two axes will have to work independently, at this time I have to change afresh the values of the parameters.

The parameters to be changed dynamically are only two.

For the first "P1501" I do not see any problems because there must be filled with 0 during a single operation, there will be written 1 during the torque coupling.

The real problem arises with the parameter "P1511", because here I must fill it with the actual value of the "R79" of the master, only during the torque coupling stage.

I mean, how I can change the "P1511" from the Simotion side during the runtime?

Well, in this case I suggest to restart from what we said since the beginning : you use the writedriveparam (or whatever it was) where during runtime you alter that parameter...

Then the magial ( :) ) scripts will do the couplings that you need.
