dolbyinside Posts: 106 Rating: (2)	Hi guys I have a VB script and the script works fine when it is executed on a event of the button (press or click), but I need to execute the same script cyclically every 2 seconds. I tried to use a SWITCH with process tag of a CPUs memory bit, and I added a script as a event on change, but the script hasn't been executed. I don't have an option in WinCC to use a global script. How can I call a script without using a button, just cyclically every 2 seconds?

Here is how you can achieve this : Create the script that you want to execute Open: Device Settings -> Scheduler : Add a new Job Set the Event to 1 Minute Select the Script that you want to execute every minute. You can add Jobs with other conditions ( e.g. Change of screen, Change of user etc ). to execute script additionally on these conditions. Hope This Helps Cheers Navnag

It must be "cyclic continuously". With a process tag the event may vary due to communication speed. Hopefully it is a script without loops. Regards, Frink

dolbyinside Posts: 106 Rating: (2)	Hi guys thanks for the answers, the tag is updated "cyclic continuously" and the script is withot loops. The script just assigns a value of tag1 (a tag that is connected to the CPU1) to the tag2 (a tag that is connected to the CPU2). It works on a click of a button (or on a press) but I need it to work every 2 seconds, so I tried using a switch with process tag of the memory clock bit. The process tag (clock memory) changes every two seconds, but the script doesn't execute. Does anyone has any idea?

This way you can find out if the script is running. If the script is not running visualize the trigger tag in the HMI and check the value changes.

In the past I had to got crazy to change some software (not mine) when I had to change the runtime the machine stop the automatic cycle because all the informations was exchanged by the HMI. You don't know how many bad words against the previous developer ....... If the sharing data is mandatory to be done by HMI and you have a PC you can use the OCX AlComCtl (zip file enclosed) pigroplc Attachment AIComCtl.pdf (406 Downloads)

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 1/19/2026 Posts: 16644 Rating: (1944)	Hello dolbyinside there is a theoretical way to create a Trigger faster than 1min in WinCc flexible without PLC trigger. You can use the logging system for that (Its not made for this but I used it once a time) - Create an internal tag - create a Historical Data a Data log with 2 No. of datarecords per log (or the number of seconds you need) and the setting "Raise Event" (and Loghandling at restart -> reset log) - at this event you have to set a "clearlog" system function so then you can log the internal tag every second Every time the log has an overflow the event is triggered and the log restarts again. So you have your "timer" in WinCC flexible. But as I said already its not made for, you should use triggers only out of PLC. Bye Murof

dolbyinside Posts: 106 Rating: (2)	Hi thanks for the answers, the reason I am trying to communicate using HMI is because an existing project is given to me and I need to add a new CPU in it. Communication is over Profibus network and all of the CPUs are in master mode, I was told that they are communicating with each other but in the hardware configuration I can't find any sign of communication. So I thought the communication over a HMI (MP377) that shares info about all of the CPUs would be the easiest way of "getting the job done". Prof. Frink I added a screen on which I have a switch ( process tag memory bit, changes every 2 seconds), button on which press or click event the script is executed (works fine), and a bit in IO field so I can see the change from 0->1 and 1->0, I also added a job in scheduler (as Navnag suggested) to execute a script every 1 min (time period is too long) the Button works fine the job in scheduler works fine (but 1 min is too much time) the script is not running on a change event of the switch. Does the event that triggers the change of a swith, change of a process tag? Look like every combination works but not the one I intended to make.

This solution allow the machine fully working also if the panel is temporary "out of order" because a download for instance. Also MP377 is a CE based panel and the script continuously running effect with the reaction time as soon as you change pages, display tag and so on. The file attached has to be renamed to zip..... but it's for PC only not for WinCE panels. pigroplc
