OB40 Not Loaded

STAL Regular Member Joined: 12/19/2006 Last visit: 2/6/2024 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Dear User/Expert, We are using PCS7 6.1 and have encountered a problem. Our S7-400H CPU reports "OB40 not loaded". We do not know how to trace the fault? What is causing this? We use ET200M I/O and Y-LINK and now also an "intelligent slave". could the intelligent slave have something to do with this? Sydney Gold Member Joined: 1/4/2008 Last visit: 12/22/2025 Posts: 703 Rating: (98)	Hello, the OB40 is HW interrupt OB which you apparently haven't created and downloaded to CPU.When some modul triggers HW interrupt the appropriate OB (OB40-OB47) is called. You can check your HW config which module has switched HW interrupt on or better way is tocreate and download the OB40 (which is default for all HW int.) and when it's called you can read the system TEMP variables ofOB40 to see which module has triggered it. More info you can get when select the OB40 in Simatic manager and press F1 key.

Dorftrottel? Silver Member Joined: 8/10/2006 Last visit: 12/4/2025 Posts: 298 Rating: (29)	Stahl, Apparently some of the hardware you have down-wire from the Y-Link generates a hardware interrupt. Create your CFC to handle that interrupt and place it into OB40. If you haven't done it before, right clock on the block in your chart and select "go to insert point". A new window will open, you can drag your newly created block from OB35 to OB40. Hope this helps, Jim

My collegue ckecked all the ET200M I/O and found that the HW interrupt had been set by misstake on one of the modules. Your tips could certinately be helpfull in the future when it is less obviouse where to look. Regards Robert
