i had one alarm on my touch panel shown power supply fault and m/c was running. i got my PG and i open open hard ware test online and it did show EXTERNAL fault and it didn't show what kind of fault and i looked at the power supply found battery fault signal shown replaced and switch the power button to 0 and sit back to battery 1 and alarm gone. my question is why did the hardware not show the power supply fault or battery fault in stead of writing external fault as you would see by attachment.

 Try to go to diagnostic buffer to see what buffer alarm is activated, buffer alarms has an explanation regarding to it. PLC>>CPU messages>>Module Information>>Diagnostic buffer.

If it is a battery fault, try to replace the battery then switch off-on FMR switch at power supply this will reset the buffer alarm for battery fault.
