The physical aspect ofMPI is comparable to PROFIBUS but on the CPU has a 24 V Supply to run PC / MPI Adapters on it too. Also one thing is that the MPI network is potential bound so you will not reach the distances as PROFIBUS is able to. The maximal segment size on MPI is 50m. Best regards J_Bell

Since I am unable to locate it on Siemens' webpages (it might be slightly old, but I don't think the information is obsolete) and it is relatively small, you can have access to it here.
