Upgrade WinCC flexible Compact to Standard

apelab Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello, I boughtWinCC flexible 2005 SP1 Compact and i installed and used it. then, i bought WinCC flexible 2007 Standard (Powerpack for WinCC Compact). i followed the manual for installing upgrade. when i start Automation License Manager, my computer gives me an alert " the registration function of system... database is out of service. the data are saved in text file." ( i translated from Italian) I moved the license key in "Automation L.M." successfully but i can't activate the standard version. i tried to install all programme in the other computer(without alert) but when i move the license key by USB memory, the computer read only the key of Compact not the key of Powerpack Standard. Can you help me solve this problem, please? Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my seat is near the shit!!!!!!!!!! Thanks a lot. Apelab

Abdelaal Posts: 76 Rating: (16)	hi Apelab, you've said that you bought a standard wincc flexible.Then you must have been given a license for it, so now, you must have 2 licenses 1 for compact and one for standard . second, are you sure that cd was for upgrade not a newer version of wincc if so may be installing new version of ALM ,if you installed it and still the problem exists ,you must save your old license in a secure place . Then you may contact service and support ,post request for them or even call them . They are very helpful and will not leave the problem till solved . hope this may help Regards

One is the Compact and the other one is thePowerpackStandard. if this iscorrectyou still need to upgrade your license. Please select the Compact and license and in one of the tabs in the ALM window bar you will find the "Upgrade" function. When you use this it will upgrade the Compact license towards a Standard license. If this is done WinCC Flex will normally start in Standard mode without any problems. But if there is still a problem it would be interesting to receive aprint screenfrom the popup and a list of the exact installed software would bewonderfultoo.
