We do have a setup in which MP277 is connected to 2 CPUs S7200 CPU224CN over profibus network (MPI; 187500).

Setup is like HMIàCPU1àCPU2.

Issue is happening like data of CPU2 is not coming over HMI properly. Like data is coming sometime and sometime it gets display as ####.

We tried with replacement of connectors and cables. But we got success after replacing cable between CPU1 and CPU2.

But one issue comes into our knowledge and we do not have answer to it yet.

We do have 2 cables (6XV1830-0EH10) in spare of 7M and 15M. Distance between CPU1 and CPU2 is of around 5M. But Issue is not getting resolved with 7M cable and getting resolved with 15M cable.

Both cables are new and get cut from the same bunch. There is a concept of maximum length for communication.

Is there any concept of minimum length between 2 devices for profibus communication?

 Hello,

when a HMI displays #### this means that the problem is in communication, which Profibus connectors uses, original Siemens? The minimum length of the cable is "1 meter" (but I have also used shorter and it works the same) Bus fault with Profibus communication - Entries - Forum - Industry ..., 7 and 15 mt is not a problem, maybe it is the reflection of the cable, terminators are okay?

And terminators on first and last connectors are OFF and the middle one is ON.

Pay attention that the S7 200 is only SLAVE DP with EM277

What settings have to be made for a PROFIBUS DP connection ...

but how the first and last are OFF, test first and last ON and OFF in the middle
