Acyclic communication with S120 drives

DavidBrown Posts: 975 Rating: (9)	I want to do acyclic communication with S120 drives from a S7 plc. The S120 system consists of CU320-2 PN and three double motor modules (6 motors). Can I read and write to all drives at the same time (same plc cycle), or only with one at a time, or is there a limitation ?

jacek d Platinum Member Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 1/20/2026 Posts: 5155 Rating: (772)	I'm not sure about this case. But in case of Simotion D and DPV1 services you can send only one request at a time per CU. AFAIK this is the CU resources limitation, so in your case it should be similar.

Regards Christoph To make it complete clear : If the situation is : S7 PLC, three CU320-2 PN each with 6 axes. Can I read in one plc-cycle a parameter from a drive of the first and the second and the third CU320-2PN? Or can I only read/write a parameter from one drive at a time even if the drives are connected to different CU's? Does it make a difference if the plc is a S7 300 or S7 1500,
