87 Hz calculation

DavidBrown Posts: 975 Rating: (9)	When configuring asynchronous motor for CU240-2 you have the checkmark for 87 Hz calculation. When I want to run my motor in 87 Hz, I connect it in star connection (230 V), Do I fill in the motor parameters in the wizard (p304,305,307,308,310,311,335) as on the motorplate for 230V-delta? Supposing I selected also 'Delta' in this wizard screen? Strange thing is that the checkmark for 87 Hz, does not lead to an recalculation of the motor parameters (p304,305,307,308,310,311,335), but I don't know where in the parameter list the '87Hz calculation' is set. However is filling in the data in the wizard from the 230V-Delta motorplate (for 230-400V motor) for (p304,305,307,308,310,311,335), checking '87 Hz calculation mark' and selecting 'Delta' in the wizard screen the right way?

Technology Team Platinum Expert Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 1/21/2026 Posts: 6052 Rating: (828)	Hello, there is a SIOS FAQ available regarding the 87Hz Operation available. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/de/view/25338130/en If you use the Delta data, the motor parameters are not changed, because you are just extending the motor characteristic to the operating point 87Hz. So just the maximum speed p1082 will be adapted. If you use the Star data like described in the FAQ some parameters will change. For 87Hz Operation without field weakening, the motor have to be connected in Delta, please see FAQ.

DavidBrown Posts: 975 Rating: (9)	Ok, thanks. To avoid any misunderstanding : I have a 230/400 V motor I want to run in 87 Hz mode. I connect the motor electrically in delta connection. In the configuration wizard in Starter, in the screen to put in het motor data, I select the combobox 'Delta', I fill in the motor parameters as from the 230V data on the motorplate in this screen : p304,305,307,308,310,311,335. I activate the checkmark '87Hz operation'. => This is a correct procedure to configure the 87 Hz mode for my 230/400 V motor? (Yes,No)
