If I want to load for example 2 minutes to a iec timer throught a HMI how can I change the base time to minutes? Because when If I use time data type it will be in miliseconds. In S5 timers we can load a BCD word to them and we can change the base time. But I don't find how we can do it in a s7 1200 in tia portal.

if you want to set the time in minutes

simply use additional variable for the hmi and calculate timer setpoint

Timer_SP:=60000*HS_Setpoint

where HS_Setpoint is setpoint from HMI as Integer

Timer_SP : Time is an TEMP variable which is linked to IEC Timer Setpoint
