Existing starter circuit "star-delta". After an emergency stop the motor at nominal loading can't be started. The customer for the solution of this problem wants to set the frequency converter. What drive power it is better to use for the solution of this problem? Sinamics G130 6SL3310-1GE38-4AA0 (high overload - 400 kW, 400 A) or Sinamics G130 6SL3310-1GE41-0AA0 (high overload - 450 kW, 860 A) or Thanks in advance for the help!

Technology Team Platinum Expert Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 1/19/2026 Posts: 6049 Rating: (828)	Hello, the 6SL3310-1GE38-4AA0 has an I_Hof 700A so it can handle 600A nominal load and supply up to 1,5*I_Hfor 60s, see attachment. You have to check your load cycle and if the G130 could handle the load, including all possible load peaks. If you have a constant load you can use I_Lor I_Ntoo, where the current is higher. Drive application Screw Presses with material has heavy start-up. At direct start-up (DOL) with material it isn't started. Load cycle- moment constant. After an emergency stop in the press there is a material (sunflower seeds). With which then at DOL it is heavy to be started. How to learn whether there will be enough drive power 6SL3310-1GE38-4AA0 (I_H of 700A).Or it is necessary to take with an reserve power 6SL3310-1GE41-0AA0 (I_H of 860A)?

To select a suitable drive I would recommend to contact your local Siemens sales contact or to use our SIZER tool which is supporting on drive dimensioning considering the load conditions in connection with the motor. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/de/view/54992004/en
