Dear Experts,

The existing system is S5-115CPU main rack connected to two remote I/Os of ET200U using  (IM318) 6ES5 318-8MB12. The upgrade scenario are:

1. S5-115CPU rack replaced with S7-300...this should be no problem

2. The ET200U will still be used...as far as I know this also will be no problem

3. In one of the Remote I/Os, there is CP521 (6ES 521-8MA21) connected to a device for meassuring. Now my question is: is this CP521 still can be "used" by S7-300? if yes, please teach me how?I need more document too.

I think you will need to replace the CP521 by an S7- CP340 module

you can add a 6ES5 521-8Mxxx in S7 hardware configuration. Then i think it is possible to use it.

Just as a tip : We replaced a 115U with a S7-412 instead of going for a S7-315.

The added bonus is that you can re-use the 115U I/Q connectors ( using an intermediate connector)

it save a lot of work ... if you have to disconnect/reconnect 1000+ IQ's

If you do a search ,you will find that this modules appears a couple of times ...check if you are using it with the right ET200

You are correct, in the next step we prepare the CP340 (ET200M Family)  but in the meantime we keep CP521 with existing ET200U racks and it works (with a small changing in S7 PLC program).
