I have a customer whose system consists of a 1515-2 PN PLC, some Siemens HMI's, and 12 G120C-PN VFDs.

Now the PLC has two ports.  One port is connected to a switch which in turn connects to all the other devices described above.  The other port is connected to the local IT departments cabinet through which I get "remote access".

So Techincally I am not on the same network as the Plant Network, and all the devices including the VFDs.

Is it possible to connect through the PLC, to one of the VFD's on the Plant network.  I want to be able to go online with the Drive and look at its diagnostics buffer.

Is there any sort of tricks I have to play in TIA portal with the network settings or the "Extended Go ONline" interface for the drives to be available?

I was able to do an extended download to one of the HMI's through TIA portal, but that was about 5 months ago, and I can't remember exactly what I did.  So because of that sucess, I feel like it should be possible to go online with a VFD through the PLC as well.
