Control unit G120 communicate with S7-1500 using Profinet

maitrien Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Dear all friends and experts , We have control unit G120 control by S7 1500 CPU using TIA Portal to configure all parameters including IP address , motor parameters ...On rainy day , control unit G120 is damaged ! And our customer change new ones , If our customer do not have TIA portal , how can they configure all parameters for control unit G120 ? Can they use BOP-2 ? or Must they use Memory card for back up ? What happen when they change new ones with the same firmware version ? and what happen with higher firmware version ? ( Example : 4.6 -> 4.7 ) Thanks , Best regards ,

If you want to copy the parameters from the old CU to the new one you can use the BOP-2 or a memory card. You can find further information about saving settings and series commissioning in the operating instructions of the used CU, for example in section 7 of the operating instructions of CU240E-2 https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/de/view/109744796/en?dl=en As long as the new CU have the same firmware versions there will be no issues. I would recommend using a memory card for parameter transfer. There you can store the firmware too, so the new CU will be up-/downgraded to the corresponding firmware version if the memory card is inserted and the CU is powered up.
