I need maximum frequency of a DI card 6ES71314-BF00-0AA0 can read. I want to use this card to read frequency. My no of teeth will be 30 and my max rpm will be 60 rpm.

It does not contains such information but you can do it if your frequency is less then the on- off detection frequency of this card 

as per mentioned deails 

it requires max of 4.5 ms to detect 0 to 1 and 4.5ms for 1 to 0 so let say you go for the delay 9ms

so your frequency should not be more then 1000/9 Hz it is my thoughts so you can have a try but not sure that it works or not

does this mean that you have 30 signals per revolution and ,with a maximum of 60rpm, up to 30 signals per second. that means a signal changes every 33ms from 0 to 1 and back to 0.

The module might can handle it, but the OB1-cycle is the bottleneck here.

It is too fast to do it with a "normal" DI-card. You need a counter-module, like 6ES7138-4DA04-0AB0

Thanks for your reply. 

Actually this requirement i got in 11th hour. I can complete this application using high speed counter card. But due to its cost and less frequency (30-40Hz max), my customer is not interested in paying for high speed counter card. 

If i am using DI as high speed feedback i cannot use standard block meant for frequency counting. I have to design new software for this. I will be using such 6 counters. Is this frequency suits DI card and will these cards last like normal DI card? For preparing software i need guidance..
