Hello Experts,

I am currently facing an error while downloading the programme backup of CU240E-2 DP to CU240E-2.  

Actually the CU240E-2 DP has gone faulty and i want to replace with available CU240E-2 to make my machine run . while downloading the programme i am getting an error message  ie , "couldn't connect to target device  " ,but i am accessing the target device also i am not aware how to change part number (mlfb) of new device with configured device in programme backup of STARTER.

do you have a screen of the error messages?
Which Devices you use exactly, can you provide the Ordernumbers of the CU?

Thanks for quick response ,I dont have screen shot of the error right now but i provide you the order number of both th control units

The order number for the faulty cu is -6SL3244-0BB12-1PA0 &  for new one is 6SL3244-0BB12-1BA1.

ok wrong type and wrong version !

first you should update the CU240E-2 to Version V4.6.x

and change the Type:

Export the CU240E-2 DP

create a new device CU240E-2

import the data from the CU240E-2 DP to the CU240E-2
