• Exact type of encoder depends on what CU and motor is used, ultimate goal of youre application is significant too;

My motor is rated at 3phase 200V 400Hz .

I need to keep the output at 200V 400Hz fixed.

• I'm not sure that VFD will allow you keep its output at 200V 400Hz, because VFD keeps its own v/f ratio constant, that doesn't have to coincide with desired by you ratio.
  
• For transformer that intends for 50/60Hz must be equipped with sine wave filter that mitigates effect of saturation due to higher frequence range and current spikes after VFD. In other words sine filter prevents turning of youre transformer into induction oven. Of course if you're going to use specified transformer that designed for VFD, theoretically there is no need to implement a sine filter.

Don't tell me that this bulkiness and complexity is only for the sake of not purchasing capable VFD or so...
