Prosave compatibility issue with Protool and WinCC Flexible 2007

kid237 Posts: 158 Rating: (3)	Hi, I am trying to upgarde OP27 to OP270 6". My client has given me the user program for OP27 so all i have to do is open it in WinCC Flexible 2007 and download it into OP270 6". Unfortunately the program that my client gave and the program that actually running in the OP27 is different. So i decided to take backup of the existing program directly from OP27 using Prosave. Now my problem is that i cant open the program i backup through Prosave in Protool or WinCC. I keep getting some error messages. I have included some screenshots of the error message and also the version of Protool, Prosave and WinCC Flexible 2007. Hope to get a reply as soon as possible. Thank you. ZAK Gold Member Joined: 5/8/2006 Last visit: 10/23/2025 Posts: 1085 Rating: (78)	Hi, you can only open the OP27 project with ProTool. WinCC flexible 200x doesn't support the OP27. You can change the HMI device OP27in the OP270 6" with ProTool. Then you should save the project in a new folder. After that you can migrate the project to WinCC flexible by opening the project with WinCC flexible. kid237 Posts: 158 Rating: (3)	Hey Zak, As i said earlier, i cant openmy backup protool program even by usingprotool! I have sent a support request to siemens and they have sent me the following reply;- a backup can not be edited with ProTool, he can just restored to a other same type panel. To migrate to Flexible you need the original ProTool project (.pdb). So from this reply from them, i think its impossible for me to convert the backup file into WinCC or edit in protool. I have asked my client for the original protool user program, hope he would give it to me as soon as possible. Thanks for your reply. Regards..

Automation Guru Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I can confirm that the original ProTool file is needed in order to successfully convert the old HMI program to a newer panel. The ProSave file is not able to be converted to ProTool without the original.
