I'm not an expert but I see it like this:

SINAMICS G120 is a modular system, you need a power module and a control unit. This allows several combinations:

• The PM with or without the possibility to bring the power back from motor to the net (e.g. for permanent braking drives)
• The CU with/without communication and/or safety

The SINAMICS G120C is a complete inverter in one unit. It is comparable to a G120 with CU240-2, CU240-2 ON or CU240-DP and PM240
