SINAMICS DRIVE with Scalance and S7-1200 PLC

Ong_Z Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	HI there, I am very new to the whole Siemens systems. I was testing out the Sinamics G120 drive CU250-2 PN VECTOR (6SL3246-0BA22-1FA0) control unit, with PM240-2 (6SL3210-1PB13-8ULO) power module, with the S7-1200 1214C DC/DC/DC ( 6ES7214-1AG40-0XB0), all connected to a SCALANCE X208 (6GK5208-0BA10-2AA3). I kept having the error from the drive 08256 No Cyclic Connection. However once I remove the scalance and connect the drive directly to the PLC and to the computer everything is working well. Help Please.

You should also use the Online&Daignostics of PLC if the error occur if some message is in the diagnosticbuffer that the partner port is wrong. Do you configure the Scalance X208 in the project? I have solved it, after not touching it for one night. a) Miraculously the drive got rid of the Cyclic Connection Error.Which I still dont understand why is that so. Can you please explain? b) Furthermore is there a standard procedure which you can recommend, in setting up proper communication between Drives, Switches and PLC to prevent such Cyclic Connection Error again? c) Lastly what is a telegram in the Drive? Thank you.

ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 1/16/2026 Posts: 22827 Rating: (3073)	Hello, for such problems you should refer the diagnostic buffer of the PLC if somme station disconnect is logged, or can it be that PLC is switch to stop? There is no general procedure for a commissioning. Normally you create PLC, Switch and drive, configure the drive including telegramms, configure the topologyconnections, create the Technology object on PLC and interconnect it with the drive. then download it to the devices. The telegram in the drive set the communication chanel between the drive and the PLC. The telegram have defined data which are exchanged between drive and PLC. Regards Christoph
