Hello,

I have a SIEMENS SINAMICS test setup using a CU320, an active line module, a motor module and a 1FK7 DRIVE-CLiQ motor.

CU320: 6SL3040-0MA00-0AA1 - Version F
CF card: 6SL3054-0CG00-1AA0 - SINAMICS S120 SW2.6 SP2 HF17
Line Module: 6SL3130-7TE23-6AA1 - Version B
Motor Module: 6SL3120-1TE21-8AA1 - Version C
Motor: 1FK7063-5AH71-1FB0

I can commission the above with STARTER V4.4.0.3 and test run the motor with the Control Panel. (I'm using the CP5711 USB to Profibus interface.) So far so good.

As the 6SL3040-0MA00-0AA1 units are obsolete I bought some spare units, three in fact, all version F, but I am unable to commission them or even factory default them. Upon powering them up I get a LED sequence which eventually rests on a solid amber RDY LED. The line module and motor modules are amber too. I can connect STARTER to the CU320s using Profibus and view the online CU320 expert list values. There are no alarms present at this stage.

But, if I try and download the offline project, the LOAD dialog window just sits there, the progress bar does not show anything, for any amount of time. I have to Cancel it to continue. No download is made.

If I try and perform a factory reset on them from the context-menu (S120_CU320 > Target Device > Restore Factory Settings) I get this:

6: Error: Write error: Parameter P0009 [0000]: Task cannot be executed due to operating state.
7: Error: Error on: Restore Factory Settings
8: Negative acknowledgement from device (ret = 0xbe090030)

 This is despite the P9 status before the Factory Reset is actioned being:

P9 (Device commissioning parameter filter)  [0] Ready : Ready to run

If anyone has any suggestions on how to factory reset or why these CU320's will not take a project, I'd be most grateful.

Hello,

you can try to remove/renom the user Folder on the CF Card.

Then the CU is powered on without any project data and a download should be possible.

I still can't understand why the factory reset would not work, but no matter, it runs now.

i think that some state was not correct , have you check P10 on the drive objects?

I did check P10 in the CU320 expert list on the original setup (Before renaming the USER folder), but it did not exist, probably because the project wasn't being downloaded to the control unit so no drive objects were configured. It all works now though, thanks again!
