I have   “PC ADAPTER USB A2  USB-ADAPTER (USB V2.0) FOR CONNECTING A PG/PC OR NOTEBOOK TO SIMATIC S7 VIA PROFIBUS OR MPI USB CABLE 5M INCLUDED CAN BE USED UNDER WINXP/VISTA/”  

I have a TP1500 with downloaded project, but I have no a real PLC.

I want to test the tags, trends, data archives, messages in Runtime on real TP1500 via real Profibus-cable and MPI / Profibus port of TP1500.

Can the following construction operate together :

1. substitutive PLC = (PLCSIM in my PC) + USB-MPI – adapter.

2. a  real  TP1500

3. Connection Interface : MPI  or   Profibus

If it’s possible then how ?

Is it possible for both interfaces, i.e. MPI & Profibus ?

Anybody tried ?

I use PLCSIM v.5.4+SP5+Upd3 (old one) cause the real PLC  I have is S7-300.

I also can ask my colleagues to use their fresh model Siemens PG\PC if it’s necessary (without USB-ADAPTER)

The PLCSIM have no communication to external.

So there is no any SOFT & HARD tools to test an Operator Panel as I told above ?

And the real PLC is only the way to do that ?

with PLCSIM Advanced orthe nettoPLCSIM for PLCSIM V5.x you can use ethernetconnection.

But for profibus there is no solution possible based on your configuration.

 So I can do it if I use following package :

1. substitutive PLC = PLCSIM V5.x  with Ethernet interface    in my PC

2. a  real  TP1500 Comfort

3. Connection Interface : Ethernet cable between my PC and  TP1500 Comfort    

Which PG\PC interface should I choose in  "Set PG\PC interface"  application ?

In fact I don't care which communication port on TP1500 can be used to test my trends, data archives etc. Because I always can recofigure the connection between PLC & HMI in the project. On this stage I make connection as "Ethernet" and test all I want in OP Runtime.

Later, when everything Ok, I recofigure the connection between PLC & HMI in the project to Profibus, then download a compiled project to OP and then connect i to real PLC.

And I hope everything should work    ?

if you start PLCSIM then the PG/PC Interface is automatic configured to PLCSIM, in PLCSIM you select then PLCSIM TCPIP.

But you need 3rd Party SW like NettoPLCSIM go get external Access to the PLCSIM!
