I need to write an integer -  between 1 and 4 depending on the status of 2 inputs- to a DB.

The logic I am trying to use is very simple and I just need to repeat it mane times to get the desire results - I am fine with that.

I CAN (and indeed does it earlier in the FB) use the logic without a coil on the ENO when there is only one move element in the network.

I would like to put many move elements in one network and connect the ENOs but when I do this it demands a coil/assignment - see attached screenshot.

Is there a way to solve this or do I have to make individual networks (it will be many) for each simple rung?

in LAD you have to put coil / assignment, put a TEMP variable if you do not need the ENO result

What is the meaning of the BR bit in the status word in STEP 7?

Thank you for the answer - that solved it for me - does not seem logic to me that I can have one rung without a coil on the ENO but not multiple - but never mind :-D

As a bonus question - can I be sure the TEMP variable is not used for other things when nothing comes up in a "local application" search - see screenshot?

as long as you do not use it in another part of the program like LB0, LW0 or LD0

Thank you for answering.

That might come in handy but in this case I need the "fork" to come BEFORE the first condition (see attached screenshot). I know I can put in a "dummy" first condition but that would be just as silly as the "dummy" coil.

I wish Siemens would remove the need to use such dummies to make the logic we want. :-D
