S7 300 to LOGO

DLEWIS260 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi Can someone please help me with my problem. I have a S7 300 and want to use a DO signal to operate a LOGO 8 input signal. Can I connect straight from S7 300 DO card into the LOGO Di terminal? They both have their own separate power supplies and are both 24vdc. I have a 12 DO's from the S7 DO card controlling 12 solenoids and been tasked with fitting 12 n/o door switches in the circuit with a ktp400 basic to indicate the switch state. Red open. Green closed. I have got the LOGO and HMI programmed and tested on the simulator and physically tested with a 24vdc supply to the digital input terminals. I have found out inputs 7&8 cannot be used as these are reserved for anologue. I now am at the point of connecting between the S7 DO and the solenoid valve. Connecting the S7 DO to door switch and back to LOGO DI. Then LOGO DO to solenoid valve, with HMI flags to indicate door switch state. Can I connect S7 DO's into the LOGO DI's and LOGO relay DO's to the solenoid valves?

Why you have to go out from S7 300 and then go to LOGO! input If you already have S7 300? KTP 400? Is possible to connect with S7 300

DLEWIS260 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I am a shift electrician an was tasked with the project and supplied the LOGO 8 and KTP400 basic and asked to fit the door switches in the DO circuit controlling the solenoid valves. I am a novice with plc's and am trying to complete the project with what I was supplied. I would have used plug in relays and indicator lamps. The S7 already has a HMI connected from its original installation.

Even if I7 and I8 are enabled for analog signals, you can evaluate them as digital inputs. The other possibility is among the features of the LOGO! to release no AIs. If 2 AIs are enabled in the base module, this only means that the addresses AI1 and AI2 are reserved for the base module.

ixo65 Grandmaster Joined: 12/18/2014 Last visit: 1/22/2026 Posts: 36505 Rating: (4553)	Which S7-300 have you exactly? If you have a Profi Net S7 (PN), you must not go trough hardware. Then you can exchange data between both devices via Ethernet.
