Dear All,

I am having a program which is running perfectly.but i wanted to extend my knowledge in know how two diffrent PLC are communicating with Each other.

I mean i have S7 400 CPU 416 which is master and IM 151-7 CPU as slave.

Both are  transferring data throgh Diffrent DB to each other ,I WANTED TO KNOW HOW THOSE BOTH dB are exchanging Data in Profibus path????

Means is there any coding or some statements to be written.?

Hello,

When you configured the other plc as a slave as shown in your attachment , there is no requirement of any special coding or statement. you can read/ writes parameters like normal IOs configure in Hardware configuration.

When  slave plc is online in hardware configuration, in object property of slave plc there is one option of couping, Couple the slave plc with master. And in configuration mode you can configure the read write parameters according to requirement.

No not like that Sir,IM 151-7 is a PLC that is on path as same PLC but it needs to communicated seperately as Their communication is from some DB.

DB1 and slave PLC and DB101 in master.

Soni wanted to know how both DB transfer data to each other.

Hi,

There are a couple of ways but one simple way is to use GET or PUT to transfer data between two Siemens CPUs.
For example can the 416 call the GET to read data in the 151-7 DB1 and write them to its own DB101.
The same way it can call the PUT to write data back to the 151-7 DB1 from its own DB101.

Please can you give any example that wud be too helpful.

Yes, GET or PUT is the simple way to transfer the Data between two PLC, but as shown in attachment 151-7 PLC configured as a profibus slave. So we can read/ write input/output image data from the configured salve. For GET and PUT no need to configure other plc as a slave.
