Hi all,

I've come across a few concerns with the auto comparison for TIA V14 (details below).

Please bare with me on the details provided, I am relatively new to the job with limited experience but here it goes....

Operating System: Windows 10

TIA Version : V14

Service pack and update : SP3

The Problems (Bugs) :

long-story-short, a project is indicating a healthy comparison although when carrying out a quick comparison of each block there are clear differences (refer to figure 1).

Has anyone come across this issue or can explain why this is occurring?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I would like to see the working pane view of the "Compare editor" tab - shown towards the bottom left of your posted image.  Your posted image shows the FC7 tab.

I have attached a PDF detailing my interpretation of the results. Please feel free to scrutinize anything I have missed or my methods, again I still have my training wheels on. :)

Note: FB313 was downloaded recently with the addition of a supervision timer and this is the pre-mod backup. I have no concerns with this block only the fact the other aren't indicating differences (or at least there is something I'm missing).

It may be that this is an issue that already got attention. TIA Portal V15 Update 3 is the current version. TIA Portal V14 branch has updated up to SP1 Update 6.

If I were to guess, you have 3 things contributing to the oddities you see.

1. This is one revision back from what is currently supported by Siemens for code changes other than hardware support.

2. You are using a fail-safe PLC.  There are odd things it does that I do not comprehend having not used a FS PLC.

3. You are using an IM151 rather than a straight up S7-1200 or S7-1500 PLC.  In other words, this is likely the last thing added and likely the most buggy.

If you upgrade the project for testing purposes, disable the safety, and move it all to a s7-1500 PLC, your comparison concerns _should_ completely disappear.

Having said that, I urge you to submit your project to Siemens Support via support request so they evaluate the project and either tell you why, or issue a bug-fix or FAQ with possible work-arounds.
