Writing frequency setpoint from PLC to Sinamics controller

AppeltaartD Posts: 76 Rating: (6)	Hello all, My brain is cooking at the moment cause I can't figure out the following. I got a sinamics G120D and write the frequency to it using the hard adress (PQW 258)that I configured in the hardware configurator. I need to control the frequency up to 80 Hz so my reference frequency is 80 Hz(parameter P2000 in the sinamics). Now I need to make the calculation in the PLC from a real value in frequency to a decimal format that will be sent to the sinamics. Now with a reference frequency of 50 Hz I know to use the following forumula: rXXXX [Hex] rXXXX [Dec] y [Hz] = ---------------- * P2000 [HZ] = ---------------- * P2000 [Hz] 4000 [Hex] 16384 [Dec] So I figurred I need to send 6400 [Hex], 25600 [Dec], 80 Hz max. That will give the following formula: rXXXX [Hex] rXXXX [Dec] y [Hz] = ---------------- * P2000 [HZ] = ---------------- * P2000 [Hz] 6400 [Hex] 25600 [Dec] So i multiply my real format frequency with 25600 and after that I devide it bij 80 and then I use the round function to write the "correct" decimal value to my sinamics. Now I start comissioning and if I sent 3 Hz I'm not getting it. My value will be so high it sends 4,8 Hz instead (checked this value in Starter during commisioning. After this I figgured if I will take 80 Hz {Hex] into 128 Hz [Dec] for my calculation so I will get: Setpoint * 25600 ------------------------ 128 Now if I sent 3Hz its not 100% 3Hz but its getting close, only now I can't send a full 80 Hz cause I devide bij 128. If after reading this your head ain't spinning maybe you can help me get the correct formula for calculating my speed to send to the sinamics converter. Kind Regards, AppeltaartD

AppeltaartD Posts: 76 Rating: (6)	Hello every one, I fixed the issue and it was quite simple, I don't know where it went wrong but it probably was one of the parameter settings in the frequency converter. For those that have had issues with finding the right settings: If your frequency setpoint is transfered using NSOLL_A (16 bit Integer) you always use the next formula: rXXXX [Hex] rXXXX [Dec] y [Hz] = ---------------- * P2000 [HZ] = ---------------- * P2000 [Hz] 4000 [Hex] 16384 [Dec] I tried this setting before but it didn't work, like I saidit probably was a setting in the frequency converter that screwed me over and now I got it right. Hope people will find this read usefull and else its a waist of space on the internet. Kind Regards, AppeltaartD

You get it as an integer so if you want a real format (value in Hz) then convert it from I>DI then DI>Real. The real value you get devide it by 16384 and finally that result multiply by your reference value (P2000). GAJENDRADS and if you don't limit the maximum frequency will it be frequency corresponding to rated motor RPM? i mean 120F/P? As far as I know this would be impossible. P2000 needs to have a value else the frequency converter can't function. Can some one with more knowledge reply on this?

Hope I am right. I have taken the setpoint as the ratio of the calculated speed to rated speed and the result is multiplied by 16384... And its working fine... Regards
