Hunky Posts: 82 Rating: (6)	HI EVERYBODY, I WOULD BE GREATFUL IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME. I AM DOING A PROJECT WHERE MM440 IS RUNNING THE MOTOR AND IT IS HAVING THE CHOKE WITH IT.BUT THE MOTOR IS AT BEYOND THE PERMISSIBLE RANGE(AROUND 400MTS). WILL THIS EFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE DRIVE AND ALSO WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS WILL OCCUR. IS THERE ANY METHOD TO SORT OUT THE PROBLEMS. YOUR HELP WILL BE REALLY APPRECIATED. REGARDS PLC ENGINEER

Salman^Arshad Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	My Dear, Where are you using the choke? At input or output???? If you are using an output choke then you must consider the distances mentioned for that. It varies from drive to drive. I think the bigger the drive the more distance you can cover. But in any case you must consider the guidelines mentioned for drive selection. Distance between Motor and Drive is always crucial. Because large distances may result in effecting the efficiency of drive. By the way, this question is good and I would really appreciate if experts answer this question. Regards. Salman

Tambe Posts: 148 Rating: (11)	As the cable length increases its capacitance value also increases. (It again changes with type of cabel and shield).Now such a long cable at output is nothing but unwanted capacitance across the the inverter o/p. This capacitance play significant role with a high voltage high current supply(o/p of drive)This will cause sporadic current pattern. IgbT will be facing more current spikes. This definitely affects performance of drive. Possibility of burning cable blowing IGBT and overheatings.To reduce this effect Chokes are inserted in series or Sin filters.But still then there are some limitations. Better you don’t exceeds the limits.
